About us
Launched in 2016 with the publication of 10 Things I Learned Living on an Island, Laki Press is an independent book publisher based on Kaua’i whose aim is to inspire readers to think. “Laki” is the Hawaiian word for “lucky.”
The owners, our employees, and our writers feel very “laki” to live in Hawai’i and to get to share our work with the world.
Since 2016, we have expanded our catalog to include titles covering a range of topics including humor, mindfulness, fiction, memoir, puzzles, and more.
We believe good books have the power to energize, inspire, motivate, enrich, and change good readers. In addition to promoting our own work, our goal is to support local Hawai’i writers.
